Jan Taylor has recently joined Position One in a Sales capacity in their Wavell Heights office. Jan spent 30 years as a Sales Professional in the Advertising Industry, half that time as a highly successful Sales Executive and the last half as a Sales Manager/Account Director, Mentoring, Training and Supporting highly successful Sales Teams.
Jan has a long association with the Principal of Position One Property, so when they caught up and the North Sales Role was offered, Jan jumped at it, they’d worked together for many years so Jan knew 2 of her 3 criteria for a new work environment would be met immediately, Integrity and a Great Sense of Fun.
Having always had more than an interest in the Real State Industry, Jan said she was always going to sell Real Estate, it was just a matter of when. Jan bought her first property at 20 years of age and since that time has bought and sold numerous property’s, all in Brisbane and located from Arana Hills to Cleveland. She owner built her 2nd home and came in staggeringly close to budget, much to her husband’s relief. One of her favourite projects was the major renovation/transformation of her third home, a not so pretty, Post War Home. She found it in the newspaper one Saturday morning, “It was such a sad place and yet had such potential, the advertisement said “Built to War Service Specification…..” and Jan knew that meant, Safe Solid and Strong. We bought it, I wanted to give it a great start so I visited an Architect for the first time, he listened to what we wanted and then came up with the perfect plan. Jan knows the importance of good tradies, she’s been fortunate to know some beauties and then to work well with them.
What Jan brings to the table in Real Estate Sales. “More of what exists so strongly at POP, Integrity and that Sense of Fun. Success is my goal. I’ll know I’m successful when I’m amongst the 20% of people in Real Estate who command 80% of the business.
Career Highlights
Listing and selling her first property within 2 months of being in the industry. The seller had had the property on the market 8 months before and had been advised to take her tenants out, not only did she not get so much as a nibble, she had lost 4 month’s rent. She’d had a bad experience and needed to be looked after and updated at every turn. Jan marketed it, managed her client’s tenants for various inspections and open houses and the seller lost no rental revenue. “Jan said, it was so satisfying, it sold after only 3 weeks on the market and the owner received $25k more than the previous agents had marketed it at”.
